Our treatment philosophy has evolved from both our formal dental training and clinical experiences. We know that different approaches to dental care lead to predictably different long-term results. We feel it is our professional duty to educate you on every possible result so that you are capable of making proper decisions concerning your dental treatment.
Developing your personal Lifetime Strategy for Dental Health is the means by which we implement our philosophy. It influences all phases of your care here at Dental Care Associates.
Here are the steps we take.
- We begin with a comprehensive examination and case presentation and address any dental emergencies
- We professionally clean your teeth and obtain any clinical records necessary to properly diagnose your personal dental needs. These may include radiographs, study models, intra-oral photographs, or other diagnostic procedures.
- Finally, we ask for the most critical piece of diagnostic information - your personal input as to what you would like us to do for you.
We take all of this information and develop a series of treatment options that fits your personal needs and goals.
Your case presentation is a critical step in your decision-making process concerning treatment. In very simple cases, this can be done briefly and simply at the diagnostic appointment. However, a separate appointment for this purpose is often necessary to present different treatment options and their long-term implications.
This is perhaps the most critical step by which we together create your personal Lifetime Strategy for Dental Health. We strive to fully explain each treatment option, its advantages and disadvantages, and which option we believe would best meet your long-term dental goals. Ultimately, however, the choice of treatment options rests in your hands as the patient.
It is common for Lifetime Strategies to be pursued over an extended period of time. Once we have a common understanding of what we wish to achieve and we have reached a stable dental condition, long-term goals can be pursued in a fashion that will ultimately achieve your Lifetime Strategy while staying within your dental budget.
